Welcome to BarkBites! Each week we’ll show you how to whip up a quick, easy, and delicious treat for your pooch. What are you waiting for?! Let’s get cookin’!
This week we’re making Peanut Butter Donuts — don’t worry! They are far less fattening than they sound, in fact, these morsels are actually packed with protein from raw, unsalted peanut butter and have the added health benefits of carob making them a tasty treat you can feel good about feeding to your dog.
– 1 Egg
– 1/2 Cup Skim Milk
– 1/2 Cup Unsalted Peanut Butter
– 1 Cup Wheat Flour
– 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
– 1/2 Cup Carob Powder
– 1/2 Cup Water
In a medium mixing bowl, combine your egg, skim milk, and unsalted peanut butter and blend until smooth.

Add in your wheat flour and baking soda and fold together to combine.

Use a piping bag (or a pair of spoons) to transfer the batter into a baking mold and bake donuts at 375° for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, combine your water and carob powder and mix. Squeeze the glaze across the baked donuts and allow to cool fully before giving to your dog to enjoy.
